Description

This scallion cream cheese is delicious for bagels—on a toasted everything bagel, or on a plain bagel with lox. It’s also great on sandwiches and wraps. It’s best if made ahead so flavors have time to meld.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) container whipped cream cheese, softened
  • 2 scallions, white and green parts, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper

Directions

  1. Place softened cream cheese in a bowl. Mix in scallions, salt, garlic powder, and white pepper. Mixture can be returned to the original cream cheese container for storage.

I tried this recipe as a healthier alternative to store-bought flavored cream cheese, and I’m so glad I did! Not only is it healthier without all the added preservatives, but the taste is far superior. The freshness of the scallions really shines through. I highly recommend giving this recipe a try!

  2. Fidelis

I’ve always been a fan of plain cream cheese, but this scallion cream cheese has completely won me over. The added kick from the scallions takes it to a whole new level. It’s now my favorite spread for bagels, crackers, or even as a dip for veggies.

  3. Collins

I made this scallion cream cheese for a brunch gathering, and it was a hit! Everyone kept asking for the recipe. The flavors are well-balanced, and it’s so easy to make. I’ll definitely be making this again for future events.

Absolutely delicious! I never knew homemade scallion cream cheese could taste this good. The freshness of the scallions combined with the creaminess of the cheese is just perfect. This recipe is now a staple in my breakfast routine.
